As we said before there are three versions, now let’s talk about the recessed one and the visible one for cylinders with knob or tang. Let’s start with the recessed one, the recessed counterdefender comes from an idea of ours, which is to lower the traditional counterdefender so that it is recessed inside the door so that if you have a cylinder with a tang or knob this you can recess it into the panel making the cylinder and defender compartment more stable, leaving a flawless exterior finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The same function does the fixed exposed counterdefender for cylinders with a knob or tang, with the difference that to bring it into view then to the same panel for a good finish it must perforce be shimmed, this factor although it might seem a small detail in reality would involve the use of longer pins, which in pulling might allow bending and twisting that do not do well you have pins in forcing. This version is also sometimes used for cylinders that have a key inside, although not recommended.
