Concealed recessed shatterproof counter-defender for security door

Just as the cylinder must be protected from frontal attacks on the outside with the defender, it must also be protected on the inside to prevent ejection; therefore, our COUNTER-DEFENDER must be used. Without a counter-defender, a burglar could use a chisel to tamper with the keyway slot of the defender and, after a series of well-aimed blows, force the cylinder outward into the interior of the home. Once the cylinder housing is freed, the burglar could then manipulate the lock bolts and use a shaped wire to gain access to the interior of the house. Our counter-defender is made of anti-push steel designed to create a protective shield that attaches to the defender; in the case of a knob lock, it is mounted beneath the panel and concealed by the cylinder plate; otherwise, it is mounted in plain view. It offers an excellent balance of design and security.
